Ghana, on West Africa’s Gulf of Guinea, is known for diverse wildlife. Coastal towns Elmina and Cape Coast contain native shrines, colonial buildings and castles turned museums. Ghana’s economy is one of the strongest and most diversified in Africa.  Ghana is one of the leading exporters of cocoa in the world. It is also a significant exporter of commodities such as gold and lumber.

Accra is the largest city and the capital of Ghana. It is an important commercial, manufacturing and communication center. The industries include vehicle and appliance assembly, petroleum refining, manufacture of foodstuffs, textiles, metal and wood products, plastics, pharmaceuticals etc.

The currency is Ghanaian cedi and the official language is English.
