Meeting with Dy. High Commissioner of India in UK

At a meeting with H.E. Mr. Virander Paul, Dy. High Commissioner of UK  and Mr. M.P. Singh, First Secretary, High Commission  in UK to discuss promotion  of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector between India and UK and to seek valued support  for  MSMEs in  India for upgrading technologies, exports and of joint ventures between India and UK. Mr. Paul assured Mr.  Vijay Kalantri, President – All India Association of Industries (AIAI) and Vice Chairman World Trade Centre Mumbai that no doubt there is a great potential to promote businesses /exports  with the United Kingdom specially in MSME sector as  over 70%  of Indian economy is represented by this vibrant sectors. There is a great scope for collaboration for promoting trade but there is lack of information and knowledge on the market potentials.

Mr. Paul also seeked cooperation  of the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) for co-operation in  MSME events organized by Indian High Commission in UK with a view to provide a platform for dialogue between Indian SMEs and those from the UK. 

During this discussion Mr. Kalantri apprised the Dy. High Commissioner on the International Agreements of Co-operation said that  have been signed by the All India Association of Industries which were over 200 with a view to promote international trade  co-operation he expressed the desire to  collaborate with trade promotion organization and seeked the assistance of the Indian High Commission. Since AIAI receives  over 60 trade/business  delegations during a year for promoting bilateral trade and would also like to co-operate with UK trade promotion organizations to foster the businesses of AIAI members.  

Mr. Kalantri attended the Association Congress UK 2013 held in London from December 10 – 12, 2013 along with officials. The Congress discussed and deliberated on a broad range of relevant topics for the future planning of Trade  Association in order to be competitive in the present market conditions .
